Manuel Lopez and his wife Yolanda purchased Manhattan Electric in 1973. At that time the company was located at 27Avenue in the northwest area of Miami, Florida. The company began as an electrical supplier with only  4 employees, including himself. In 1981, after much hard work, he expanded  the business to a new larger location at 1155 East 4th Avenue in Hialeah, FL. As a result of this in 1984, the business continued to grow and two-story building was added for a new lighting showroom and offices. In 199 , an export department was added to further meet the needs of the growing industry and our customers.

Manhattan now has over 35 employees and 4 divisions, distributes nearly 15,000 different products out of our warehouse  and distributes electrical items manufactured by over 200 factories. We are a member of the Hialeah Chamber of Commerce and the Latin Builders Association of Florida. The company has received many Certificates of Appreciation from the community as well as numerous Electrical Supplier of the Year awards.
